Supporting those who serve. Through the Armed Forces Covenant

Date added: 10/06/26

At Aiker Wills & Trusts, we are proud to be a Bronze Award Holder for the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Armed Forces Covenant is unique. It’s not a charity – it’s a promise from the nation that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly. It’s voluntary to sign the Covenant, so as long-time supporters of our Armed Forces, that’s just what we’ve done.

What signing the Covenant means

In its simplest terms, it means we’re committed to upholding the Covenant and supporting the Armed Forces Community. That means recognising the contribution regular and reservist Service personnel, veterans and military families make to us all; and promoting our belief that they should never be disadvantaged in their daily lives as a result of their service, and that special provision should be made for those who have given the most, such as those injured or bereaved.

Specific support

More specifically, signing the Covenant means we pledge to:

  • Promote the Armed Forces
  • Understand the specific requirements of the military and veterans
  • Offer employment support to members of the Armed Forces community
  • Be aware of Armed Forces Compensation Scheme and War Pension issues
  • Be sensitive to blended families and mobility
  • Help to protect Military Compensation Awards
  • Offer Estate Planning to protect veterans and their families
  • Help military personnel and veterans to access essential advice to protect their assets for future generations
  • Discount pricing for our services

Proud to be a Bronze Award Holder

As our support goes beyond simply signing the Covenant – so much so that we’ve changed our HR policies to allow time off for anyone wanting to become a Reservist, and are open to employing Reservists, Veterans, Cadet instructors or military spouses and partners – we’ve been given a Bronze Award under their Employer Recognition Scheme.

As Aiker Director Jon Ainge commented: “We’re extremely proud to have received the Bronze Award, We feel everyone should be indebted to the people who, literally, put their lives on the line in defence of our country, and we’re only too pleased to be able to support members of the Armed Forces and their families in this way, whether they’re still serving or now in civilian life.”
